Week of January 22-25, 2019 - PRESCHOOL ENGLISH CLASS NEWS

Dear Parents of Preschool at Sacred Heart,
Time flies when you’re having fun! We are into our third week since the second semester began, and it has been such a rewarding experience for me!
In Pre-Pre English, last week we had a fun dynamic with counting up to the number 4, using classroom objects and the tables in our classroom. This week, January 22-25, we continue with reviewing shapes, and specifically the square that has four sides, and the students will draw their home using a square shape on construction paper.
In Pre-K English, last week we continued with our unit Foods We Like, using our workbook for class work and ending the week with the students creating their own plate of food, and naming the foods on it. We continue this week of January 22-25 with the unit, using our workbook, doing counting exercises with the food, as well as reinforcing vocabulary, retelling scenes related to family eating together and naming family members such as mother, father, grandfather, brother, sister, and baby.
In Kinder English, last week, we started the week with me reading aloud the big book "Animal Babies in Grasslands," I went over with the students vocabulary related to animal babies and their mommies: elephant/calf, zebra/foal, prairie dog/pup, kangaroo/joey, lion/cub, etc. We then
continued working with the letter P p, its sounds and spelling words, working on our Decodable Reader "Pat the Cat" that is glued to their notebook, and this week we prepare our dictation list for next week’s dictation of the Pp words, that will be listed in their notebook as well.

My door is always open for you,
Take care and many blessings always,
Ms. Haydee
